APC Stakeholders Assure Tinubu of Victory in Kano Ahead of 2027 Elections
Key APC stakeholders from Kano State converge in Abuja to pledge support for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election and to strategize reclaiming the state from the NNPP.

As the political climate heats up ahead of the 2027 general elections, President Bola Tinubu has received fresh assurances from key All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders that the party will reclaim Kano State and secure his re-election.
At a stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, prominent APC figures from Kano, led by former National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, expressed confidence that the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) would be unseated due to what they described as its poor performance in governance. Ganduje stressed that restoring APC to power in Kano and ensuring Tinubu’s continuity in office was crucial for the stability and progress of the state.

Reviewing the party’s position, Ganduje maintained that despite losing Kano in 2023, the APC remained united and had continued to attract defectors from rival parties. He highlighted Tinubu’s policy reforms and federal appointments for Kano indigenes as key drivers of renewed support. “We are determined to consolidate these gains, mobilize our members for the ongoing voter registration, and ensure a landslide victory in the next elections,” he said.
Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin echoed these sentiments, pointing to numerous federal projects and appointments that, according to him, demonstrated Tinubu’s commitment to the North. He added that APC’s growing strength was proof of the President’s interventions to ease people’s hardships, noting that Kano stakeholders were “solidly behind him.”
House Appropriations Committee Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Bichi, also dismissed claims that Tinubu was indifferent to Northern interests, insisting that the administration had delivered both in Kano and across the region.
The high-level meeting was attended by Deputy Senate President Jibrin, Hon. Bichi, Minister of State for Housing Abdullahi Atta, Senator Kawu Sumaila, former Governor Kabiru Gaya, and several current and former lawmakers, ministers, and commissioners. Together, they reaffirmed their resolve to rally support for APC’s return to Government House in Kano and Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
