POLICE SPECIAL FRAUD UNIT UNVEILS ADDITIONAL OPERATIONAL VEHICLE AS STAKEHOLDER PARTNERSHIP STRENGTHENS THE FIGHT AGAINST FRAUD
In a further demonstration of the growing partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and well meaning Nigerians in the fight against economic and financial crimes, the Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Lagos, CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, B.Sc., MILD, officially unveiled an additional operational vehicle, donated by one of the Unit's esteemed stakeholders. The donation represents a significant boost to the Unit's operational logistics and highlights the increasing commitment of public spirited individuals and corporate stakeholders to supporting the Unit in safeguarding Nigeria's financial ecosystem. The Commissioner of Police described the gesture as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in the Police Special Fraud Unit and an admirable example of the positive impact of collaborative policing.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, CP Okpoziakpo noted that the additional operational vehicle will further enhance the Unit's investigative capacity, improve the mobility of detectives and facilitate intelligence led operations across the country. He stated that the donation aligns with the strategic vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, to strengthen policing through improved logistics, stakeholder collaboration and enhanced service delivery. The Commissioner of Police further emphasized that the fight against fraud and other crimes is a collective responsibility and calls on other well meaning Nigerians, corporate organisations and development partners to continue supporting the Police with resources and credible information necessary to combat increasingly sophisticated financial crimes.
In a closing remark, the Commissioner of Police charged officers of the Unit to make prudent and professional use of every resources made available while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, accountability and discipline in the discharge of their duties; stressing that no form of misconduct or abuse of operational assets would be tolerated. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Unit to tackling fraud, money laundering and other financial crimes through intelligence led policing, while reassuring members of the public that the Police Special Fraud Unit remains dedicated to protecting the nation's financial ecosystem through sustained collaboration with stakeholders and the active support of law abiding citizens.
