Police Arrest 35-Year-Old for Sexually Assaulting Minor in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Abdulaziz Mohammed, for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl in Mubi North. The suspect was apprehended following a complaint by the victim’s father, and investigations are ongoing to ensure justice is served.

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 35-year-old man, Abdulaziz Mohammed, for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl in the Mubi North Local Government Area. The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by the victim’s father at the Mubi North Divisional Police Headquarters.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Yola, the Police Spokesman in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, revealed that the incident occurred on March 17, 2025. According to the statement, the suspect lured the young girl into his grinding engine shop located at Kasuwan Borkono, Mubi North, and sexually assaulted her, fully aware that she was a minor.
SP Nguroje further explained that upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), swiftly deployed operatives from the Mubi Division to intervene. The suspect was promptly arrested, while the victim was rushed to a medical facility in Mubi for examination and treatment.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to committing the heinous act and has since been taken into custody for further investigation.
The Commissioner of Police strongly condemned the act and directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yola. He emphasized the need for a thorough and diligent investigation to ensure justice is served for the victim and her family.
The police have assured the public of their commitment to eradicating such crimes and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
