IGP DEPLOYS CP KAYODE OJAPINWA AS THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, POLICE SPECIAL FRAUD UNIT (PSFU), LAGOS.
CP Kayode Ojapinwa on Monday 26th January 2026 resumed duty as the 33rd Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit Lagos, following the retirement of CP Rose Chollom Dung, mspsp. Upon resumption, he inspected the guard of honour while being received by the Management Team, Officers, Men and Women of PSFU Lagos alongside the Unit’s stakeholders.
CP Ojapinwa hails from Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State, he holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in psychology from the University of Ibadan and was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force on May 18th 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
During his decades of policing experience, CP Kayode Ojapinwa went through investigative courses like Advanced Detective Course, CPTU amongst others. His vast experience cuts across Investigation, Operations and Administrative capacities. Notably, he was Unit Commander Mopol 18 Squadron Owerri, Divisional Police officer, Mushin, Alakara Itire, and Trade Fair Division all in Lagos State Police Command. He also served as the Area Commander Gboko, Benue State Police Command, Commander 58 Squadron Police Mobile Force Lafia, Deputy Commissioner of Police Counter Terrorism Unit, Nigeria Police Force Headquarters Abuja, Deputy Commissioner of Police Criminal Investigation Department, FCT Police Command Abuja, and until his current posting, he was the Commissioner of Police, Special Protection Unit, Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House Abuja.
During his address, the Commissioner of Police charged the officers and men of the Unit to maintain high standard of professionalism, discipline and intelligence led policing. He thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for this impactful opportunity to serve with diligence and fairness.
The CP calls on the general public and all Stakeholders to maintain the fight against all forms of crimes as he promises to ensure that fraud related offences are tackled with strict professionalism.
