NCDMB Executive Secretary Congratulates Gas Minister Ekperikpe Ekpo on Election as GECF President
The Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has congratulated the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, on his election as President of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). Ogbe hailed the appointment as a recognition of Ekpo’s visionary leadership, commitment to Nigeria’s Decade of Gas initiative, and global influence in the energy sector.
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) and Co-Chairman of the NCDMB Governing Council, Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, on his emergence as President of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
Engr. Ogbe described the Minister’s new role as a fitting recognition of his visionary leadership, strategic foresight, and sustained efforts to project Nigeria as a key force in the global gas sector.
According to Ogbe, Nigeria’s gas industry has recorded remarkable growth under Ekpo’s leadership, marked by accelerated midstream development, increased domestic gas utilisation, and consistent implementation of the Decade of Gas programme.

“The Honourable Minister’s advocacy for gas as Nigeria’s primary transition fuel and his commitment to policies that promote investor confidence and deepen value addition have made him a natural fit for this global assignment,” Ogbe stated.
He also congratulated Dr. Philip Mshelbila, Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Limited, on his election as Secretary General of the GECF, describing both appointments as major wins that highlight Nigeria’s growing influence in the international gas community.
Ogbe noted that the dual recognition represents a moment of national pride and a significant milestone for the Nigerian energy sector.
“The NCDMB remains grateful for the Minister’s continuous support for Nigerian Content development and his guidance as Co-Chair of our Governing Council,” he added.
He reaffirmed the Board’s unwavering loyalty and partnership with the Minister’s office in advancing the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to strengthen Nigeria’s gas industry and drive sustainable economic development.
