Signature Bank Appoints Nixon Iwedi as New Managing Director
Signature Bank Limited has named Nixon Iwedi as its new Managing Director and CEO, following CBN approval. Iwedi brings over 28 years of banking experience to lead the bank's next phase of growth and transformation.

Signature Bank Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Nixon Iwedi as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, following approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The appointment marks a strategic milestone in the bank’s ongoing transformation and growth agenda. Mr. Iwedi brings to the role more than 28 years of diverse experience in commercial and corporate banking, global transaction services, and compliance.
Before joining Signature Bank, Iwedi served as the pioneer Executive Director and Executive Compliance Officer at Globus Bank Limited. His proven leadership is expected to enhance Signature Bank’s executive team and drive its ambition to become a major player in Nigeria’s competitive banking sector.

Chairman of Signature Bank, Mr. Tijjani Borodo, expressed confidence in the new leadership, saying:

Iwedi began his banking career at Guaranty Trust Bank in 1997 and later joined Access Bank Plc in 2002. At Access Bank, he held several key roles including Group Head of Global Transaction Banking, Group Head for Large Conglomerates, and Zonal Head of the Commercial Banking Group in Port Harcourt.
In 2009, he was seconded to the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) in The Hague as Senior Investment Officer, where he gained international experience in deal structuring and credit risk management.
Mr. Iwedi holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Port Harcourt and an MBA from Bangor University (UK) and Rivers State University of Science and Technology. He is an alumnus of both INSEAD (France) and IMD (Switzerland).
He is also a certified member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, and a Chartered Banker in Scotland and Wales, as well as a Fellow of the National Institute of Credit Administration.
