Press Release: Probitas Report Launches Fraud Column and Integrity In Business Magazine to Expose Financial Misconduct and Recognize Ethical Business Practices
Helping to fight financial fraud and other social vices that relate to economic crimes

PRESS RELEASE

Lagos, Nigeria – Probitas Report, Africa’s premier investigative news platform focused on financial fraud and corporate governance, is pleased to announce the launch of a Fraud Column dedicated to publishing reports on cases filed at the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and various courts across Nigeria. This initiative aims to promote loan transparency, financial responsibility. accountability, and integrity in business practices by spotlighting financial fraud, loan defaults, and unethical corporate behavior that result in financial losses to Creditors and the Nigeria economy.

Additionally, Probitas Report will introduce its bi-annual e-Magazine, "Integrity In Business Magazine," with the inaugural edition set for June 2025 and the second edition for December 2025. This publication will conduct sector-by-sector private investigations and analysis, shedding light on how businesses and entrepreneurs manage their loans and debts—whether they are diligently repaying or defaulting. The magazine will serve as a critical resource for regulators, financial institutions, and investors by analyzing debtor behavior and its overall impact on economic stability in Nigeria.

To further encourage financial responsibility within the credit administration system, Probitas Report, in collaboration with the Coalition Against Financial Fraud Initiative in Africa (CAFFIA), will introduce a prestigious annual awards program recognizing both individuals and corporate organizations that uphold outstanding corporate governance and demonstrate financial integrity in credit administration. The awards will be categorized as follows:

  • Corporate Governance Award – Recognizing organizations with exemplary compliance and governance structures.
  • Integrity In Business Award – Honoring businesses that demonstrate ethical financial practices and uphold contractual obligations.
  • Clean Bill of Health – “Debt-Free” Award – Acknowledging organizations that responsibly manage their loans and maintain a zero-debt status.
  • And many more…

Starting with Nigeria, Probitas Report will progressively expand this initiative across Africa, ensuring that businesses and individuals engaged in fraudulent financial practices are held accountable, while celebrating those who uphold financial integrity in their dealings and debt management.

“The financial sector thrives on trust, and our role at Probitas Report is to ensure that trust is not broken. By exposing fraudulent activities—including serial debtors known for issuing dishonored financial instruments, diversion of funds, obtaining by false pretense, stealing, embezzlement, and other financial crimes—whilst simultaneously recognizing ethical business conduct, we are setting new standards for corporate loan repayment accountability," said Dr. Ohio O. Ojeagbase, FICA, FIDR, Publisher at Probitas Report.
