The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays in observance of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government. In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Magdalene Ajani, on Wednesday, the Minister congratulated the Muslim faithful across the country on the successful completion of the sacred month of Ramadan—a period of fasting, spiritual reflection, and devotion.

A Call for Unity and Compassion
Dr. Tunji-Ojo used the occasion to encourage Muslims to uphold the virtues of self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace, emphasizing that these values are essential for fostering national unity and social harmony.
The statement read:
