Double Appointments at KWASU: Dr. Ibrahim Salawu Named Acting Director, Centre for Politics and Corporate Governance
Kwara State University announces the appointment of Dr. Ibrahim Salawu as Acting Director of the Centre for Politics and Corporate Governance, marking a strategic leadership move within the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), Professor Shaykh-Luqman Alade Jimoh, has approved the double appointments of Dr. Ibrahim Ogirima Salawu as the Acting Director of the Centre for Politics and Corporate Governance, and HOD, Department of Politics and Governance of the school.
He is also the incumbent sub-Dean, school of post-graduate studies of the same University..
The appointments, contained in letters dated November 18, 2025, and signed by the Registrar, places Dr. Salawu in the role for a one-year term, for the the offices.

Dr. Salawu, an Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and Governance, is a scholar of political institutions, governance, and public policy. He has served as the Sub-Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies since March 2024. He is also heavily involved in public intellection on Sobifm Ilorin, on a wide range of issues - Politics, Socio-economics and what have you.
He obtained his Ph.D. from the International Islamic University, Malaysia, in 2016, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.
He is also a member of the American Political Science Association, Canadian Political Science Association, and the Nigerian Political Science Association.
Widely regarded as a respected voice in public discourse, Dr. Salawu is also known for his contributions as a public affairs analyst.
