Grief

With profound grief, I announce the passing of the Managing Director of the Kano State Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB), Alhaji Ahmadu Haruna Zago.

Alhaji Danzago passed away in the early hours of Thursday at the age of 74 after a protracted illness at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, and he is survived by four wives, 37 children, and many grandchildren.

His Salatul Janaza is scheduled to take place today by 1:00 PM at the Emir’s Palace in Kano. 

Alhaji Zago was a dedicated public servant, master political strategist and business mogul who played a key role in shaping the political landscape of Kano over the last 50 years.

May the Almighty God grant him eternal rest Amen.
