"I Have a Dream - A Nigerian Perspective"

Nigeria, we hail thee, our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood we stand.

I have a dream that even the most populous cities sweltering under the heat of corruption, tribalism, and inequality will be transformed into havens of equity, fairness, and justice—a nation where every citizen, regardless of background, religion, or ethnicity, will truly feel at home and every Nigerian will enjoy the freedom to pursue their dreams without fear of prejudice, insecurity, or oppression

I have a dream that my three little children and all children of this great nation will grow up in a land where their worth is not determined by the tribe they belong to or the region they hail from, but by the content of their character, the depth of their integrity, and the value of their contributions to society. I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day, in a nation where political elites use the language of division to maintain their grip on power, those divisive strategies will fail, and the people will rise as one voice. I dream of a Nigeria where leaders are chosen not by their capacity to stoke ethnic or religious sentiments, but by their vision, honesty, and unwavering commitment to the progress of all citizens. I have a dream that one day, in every corner of this land, Nigerians of all faiths—Muslims, Christians, and Traditionalists—will lock arms in unity, rejecting every attempt to divide us. Those who sow discord and exploit our differences will no longer find fertile ground in our hearts or land.

I have a dream that Nigerian businesses will lead the world in innovation and integrity in business culture. That our traders in Aba, our tech entrepreneurs in Yaba, our farmers in the North, and our artisans in the South will operate in a fair and transparent environment, unburdened by fraud, extortion, blackmail, or corruption. I have a dream that one day, honesty will be the hallmark of our economy, and the blessings of our resources will enrich every Nigerian, not just a select few.

I have a dream that the voices of the youth will no longer be silenced. That our young men and women, filled with ideas and energy, will be empowered to lead the charge for change, building a Nigeria where talent is nurtured, and hard work is rewarded. I dream of a day when no Nigerian will have to leave their homeland to seek opportunities abroad because the land of their birth will be a land of promise and prosperity.

I have a dream that one day, every valley of despair will be exalted, every hill of corruption will be made low, the rough terrain of tribalism will be smoothed, and the crooked paths of governance will be straightened. The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all Nigerians shall see it together.

This is the hope I carry for my beloved nation. With this hope, we will rise above despair and build a future rooted in unity, justice, and shared prosperity. With this faith, we will transform our jangling discords into a symphony of brotherhood and sisterhood. With this faith, we will hold hands to pray together, work together, fight together, and stand for freedom and progress together until all humanity are liberated to be better and not bitter.
