CP ROSE CHOLLOM DUNG TAKES CHARGE AS THE 32ND COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, POLICE SPECIAL FRAUD UNIT LAGOS

The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) Lagos, on Monday, 4th August 2025, officially welcomed CP Rose Chollom Dung as its 32nd Commissioner of Police. Her appointment follows the promotion of her predecessor, AIG Okunade Ronke Nurat, fsi.

CP Rose Chollom Dung, a native of Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the then Bendel State University Ekpoma (now Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma). 

She was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force on 18th May 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and, upon completing her training at the Nigeria Police Academy Annex, Kaduna, was posted to Abia State Police Command where she began her police career and completed a one year mandatory attachment.

Over the years, CP Dung has served the nation with dedication in various capacities across different commands and formations, including:
•⁠  ⁠Abia State Police Command
•⁠  ⁠Police Special Fraud Unit
•⁠  ⁠Divisional Police Officer, Agbara Division, Ogun State Police Command
•⁠  ⁠Commandant, Police Training School, Iperu
•⁠  ⁠Assistant Commissioner of Police (Admin), Ondo State Police Command
•⁠  ⁠Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin), Bauchi State Police Command

She was, until her current posting, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Welfare at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja.

A highly trained and versatile officer, CP Rose Chollom Dung has attended several strategic courses, including:
•⁠  ⁠National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS)
•⁠  ⁠Strategic Leadership and Command Course, Police Staff College Jos
•⁠  ⁠Training Operation of AFIX Tracker Automated Fingerprint and Palm-Print System
•⁠  ⁠Sixth Regional Training on Money Laundering and Financial Crimes

She is a proud member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and, International Association of Women Police (IAWP).

In her remarks, CP Rose Chollom Dung expressed her gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, for the confidence reposed in her and assured that the Unit would continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in line with the rule of law.

She further called on members of the general public and all stakeholders to sustain their support and cooperation with the Unit to ensure the effective delivery of its mandate.
